Signing the papers…
Susan, at LongView RV in Tampa, buying the toyhauler.
Classy guy…
Tony, about to drop trou in the back of the hauler…
Looking forward…
Susan, being domestic in the hauler’s kitchen area… and trying REALLY hard to ignore the roof ladder (for which at this point we’d not figured out a storage location)
Deal’s Gap campsite
Actually about 50 miles away, in Murphy, NC… this is Creekside RV…where there IS a creek, and there ARE cows in it.
Dragon slayers…riiigggghhhhttt!
The bikes, at the Creekside campsite in Murphy, NC. Very pretty there, but it was October, and the leaves were everywhere…
Full Hookup
Here’s the electrical, water (with softener & 3-stage filter), and UGH; sewage connections. This lets the RV operate on “shore power” without filling the tanks or using the generator. Oh, and the real thin black wire is the Cable TV hookup. Roughing it, in style.
Toyhauler with a view…
This is the view out the back, with the ramp down, taken at an airshow in Titusville…and the roof makes a GREAT viewing platform for all sorts of things.
viewing platform
The beanbags on the ramp, and the back couch, configured to watch the airshow… the couch can also be set to face into the trailer, or electrically elevated out of the way. The 2nd queen-sized bed is above it, in its stowed position.
Campsite at L-Cross Extreme
Spent a cool weekend up near the lake, running the ATV’s.
L-Cross campsite at night
The hauler has powerful lights all around it, and outdoor speakers for the 1800 Watt Sony/Kicker sound system. Party time? You bet!
That Lived in look
Here’s Susan, at work on her laptop (sorry about the poor focus). The rear bed is lowered, as well as two of the three couches (which also convert to full-size beds).
TV/DVD/VCR
Here’s the tv in the main living space.. they hadn’t gone to flat-screen units yet. It does swivel so that it can be seen easily from most of the living space.
Ramp room deployed…
We also have a screen room that can be put up on the extended ramp… for cool, breezy days… and it adds about 100 sq. ft. to the living space.
Ladder storage solution.
Here’s what we finally figured out for storing the roof ladder while traveling. The side-couches and tables are also stowed for travel, as are the rear couch & Queen-bed (electrically hoisted to the ceiling). The KFX400 can be seen in the “garage” area that are normally taken up by the couches & tables.
The a$$ end
This is the rear ramp, closed. It’s spring assisted & will hold 3000 lbs, so it’s easy to load our bikes, quads, etc, or just secure the ramp in a level position (with cables) as a back porch. We’re pretty sure the decals are unique, so if you happen to see us on the road, say hi.
TACOS FOR DINNER!!!!
Here the tables are set up in the “big” table configuration. They can also be set so there’s a path between them, or just one of them can be set up for more walking space.
WOOF!
Sub-Woofer, that is… this beast pumps out the bass so the whole trailer vibrates.
Tuner/CD unit
This is the Sony “head” unit that controls the stereo & TV sound. It also has inputs for an MP3 player and our XM receiver (which we move between the truck and the trailer). Above the stereo is the fuel monitoring system, where we can check the levels on both the 40 gallon generator fuel tank as well as the separate 20 gallon fueling-station. Sadly, there is no transfer capability between tanks, so when the generator is running dry, we have to use the fuel pump to manually fill 5-gallon cans to refill the generator tank. Bummer.
You don’t know the POWER of the dark side…
But we DO know the power of this Kicker amp – total of 1800 watts, switch-ably delivered to any combination of 6 internal and/or two external speakers, PLUS the sub. Rock the house…er.. trailer! Below is the master control/monitor system for the tanks, batteries, and generator. All of it is normally hidden behind cabinet doors, above the sink.
Clewiston Campsite
This is where the toyhauler usually resides between trips. In this pic, it’s set up for a cool-weather holiday weekend visit by the whole family, so we put up the ramp room for extra space, and the screened canopy for bug-free outdoor dining. Tony’s KX350 & KFX400 are sitting there, patiently waiting the abuse to come.
Toidy & shower
It’s a real, flushing, porcelain toiled… but it’s a foot-flush type, like on boats. The shower is to the right, behind the retractable shower “curtain”.
“Master” bedroom.
This is the forward sleeping compartment, complete with its own tv and stereo speakers. Like the aft bed, this one is a queen sized unit, with a temperpedic mattress. Very comfy, especially after a long day of riding.
Sebastian inlet Campground
This was on one of our non-toyhauling trips with the family. The view of the inlet was one of the best we’ve had… the only one better was on a trip to Key largo, where the campsite backed up to Florida Bay, looking west. When we deployed the ramp it was literally over the water, and when the sun set, it filled the entire hauler with its red glow. Awesome.
Downtime.
When not out playing on the toys, there’s still plenty to do INSIDE… TV, movies, music, and in this case, Guitar Hero… This is my ex-cousin-in-law, butchering the song “Woman”…for this we have a kickin’ sound system??? LOL.
